Chicago Mentored Research Trip - April 2011

Chicago Mentored Research Trip - April 2011
by Rand Blimes, Ph.D.

The Midwest Political Science Association Annual Conference gathers to present individual findings by political scientists from around the world. In 2011, more then 48,000 political scientists and guests attended, including our very own group, headed by Dr. Rand Blimes. In April 2011, eight BYUH Political Science students took their findings to the Midwest Political Science Association's annual conference in Chicago. Four students had their proposals accepted by the MPSA and were invited to present their original research at the poster session where they explained their findings to interested conference participants. Two more students had helped Dr. Blimes and thus got to attend and present on a regular conference panel. Students also attended conference panels and learned about the findings of other political scientists from around the globe. The entire group gained valuable experience throughout the mentoring, hands-on development of the research and the conference attendance as well.
